Last one today...I promise!

This is what I saw at 6:30 this morning:
A raccoon playing in our yard. It was fun to watch him attack this little ball and roll around with it. BriAnn and Tyson were able to watch him, too. They loved it. We know raccoons come into our yard as we have seen their footprints in the pool, on the patio and elsewhere before.
It is just a treat when we get to watch them play!

She wore the dress!!!

It took a couple of weeks due to many interruptions of daily activities, but the dress got done. Most of the time I was making it, BriAnn would say, "I not wearing that dress!"
Sunday morning came and she decided she would wear the dress. After church she said, "Pretty dress. I not a princess. Pretty dress." A few people called her "princess" at church. Evidently, she doesn't want to be a princess. Notice the bow and arrow she is holding. This picture says it all. Sugar and spice and everything nice! When I get Trevor's new vest done, I'll post pics of the boys. Trevor's original one went to Tyson. The vests were just too short so I'm revamping the pattern for Trevor. Its on my long list of things to do.

New Brake Drums

My handy husband replaced the brake drums (or are they drum brakes?) on the Neon after driving home from work one day with no brakes. He did have the emergency brake otherwise he would not have attempted it as there are a few hills he has to drive between work and home. He replaced them on Friday and has driven the Neon several times since without any problems so I feel safe in saying it was a job well done! Good job, Honey!

Visit from Grandma and Grandpa H.

It sure was fun to see you guys, even if it was for just a few hours. Thanks for stopping by. Trevor was at school when these pictures was taken.

"The Bread Lady"

This is my new nickname in the ward. We are fortunate enough to know the real bread lady who has a nonprofit status and can get free day-old bread from Oroweat (the good stuff!). So, we are the bread hub for our ward. This is our station after the bread has arrived. I don't have to pick it up every week because we have enough volunteers in the ward to make it once a month. Very manageable. Just had to document it because I keep thinking of last summer as "The Summer of the Bread". Just trying to pass on the service legacy to my children as my parents passed it on to me. Thanks, Mom and Dad. You guys are the best!

Sleep Walking

Trevor sleep walks on a regular basis. At least once a week, I would venture to say. If we don't move fast enough, we find him going to the bathroom in unusual places. I won't go into details about where those unusual places might be, but I will say that Jason is getting really good at jumping off the couch and running after him so we don't have to clean up a mess. I am usually up to my elbows in projects so he can get off the couch faster than I. I also have to admit that this behavior comes from me as I was a sleep walker in my youth. OK, I've caught myself recently standing in the closet with the light on and not remembering how I got there while everyone else in the house is sleeping. I hope he outgrows it, though.

Garden: In the beginning...

In the beginning, there was dirt, posts, fencing and happy helpers.
Jason was sinking the posts to put the wire up and the kids wanted to help. So, he asked them to get the posts for him. Next thing we know, all three of them were carrying one of them. Too cute a Kodak moment to pass up. We were able to get the peas, green beans, tomatoes, Serrano chilies and corn planted this weekend. Not sure if the tomatoes are going to grow but thought I would try. If not, Plan B: buy starts from a local nursery.

Spring Break

Dash Point State Park
Steele Lake ParkOther fun things we did: Play date with Emily, Johnny, and Sunny, IKEA. In spite of the rainy weather, we did pretty well at getting out.

Easter

The decorating of Easter Eggs took place on Monday before Easter this year. It happened so fast that this was the only picture I got. Let's just say it was fast, furious and the kids loved it!
Puzzles during Conference. We listened to it on the new laptop.
Today during Church Trevor showed me a Lego creation he chose to bring to church to help him be quite. He informed me he could "read scriptures and watch Conference" on it. He gave a talk today at church and did a very nice job. We let him choose his topic and he chose "When Jesus was resurrected". He mentioned that "Jesus was resurrected from the dead. His friend Mary thought he was the gardener. But really it was Jesus." It was really cute how he explained things. Wish I could find the talk so I could post the whole thing. Maybe it will show up later.
