Fruits of our labors

Our garden looks so beautiful right now (minus the weeds). Jason and the kids were wandering in it looking at the sunflowers and I couldn't resist taking a picture. The canning is going well. I think I am about done for the time being. I do love fresh fruits and veggies!

Play Dough Creations

The kids were playing with play dough one day while I was folding laundry and they wanted me to take pictures. So, here they are. Trevor made the guy on the play dough can. It turned out really cute. And, yes, our fish are still alive and well. See them floating around in the background?

Uncle Kory

Uncle Kory

I know this entry is out of sequential order, but I still wanted to add it. Kory came to stay with us the first weekend of August and brought barrettes for the boys from his drill Sargent. Tyson didn't want to wear his but Trevor sure looked cute! Of course, Uncle Kory looked handsome in his, too. We had fun visiting and the kids absolutely love Uncle Kory, as do we all.

Cute sayings:

"Mommy, I'm glad you are a hard worker." -Trevor (He had just studied about The Little Red Hen and how hard she worked to make bread. We had just planted our garden and were making homemade bread and granola so some how he equated me with the Little Red Hen. Cute!)

"Don't worry, Dad. When I grow up I'll live close by. Probably even next door." -Trevor (Jason was commenting on how fast Trevor is growing up and asked if he wanted to repeat Kindergarten to help slow down the growing up process. Trevor said no, he is excited about first grade.)

Comments, please

Hello, everyone. Thank you to all who have made comments on our blog. We love reading them!

I placed a tracker on our blog because I was feeling unloved due to lack of comments, therefore thinking people aren't looking at our blog and not caring what is going on in our lives. Wow! Surprise! The counter is almost to 400 in about two month's time. I can stop licking my wounds.

If you are taking the time to look at our blog, please take the time to make a quick comment. Even if it just says "Hi". I understand if you can't do it every time you look, but we do like comments as it is one more way to feel connected to our friends and family! Thank you!

Trampoline

We bought a used trampoline and the kids have been enjoying it several times a day. I have been in the kitchen canning some more and can look out the window to see the tramp. All three kids love to jump on it and most often won't go out unless they have a bouncing buddy. It is really cute to see them jumping around enjoying themselves together without fighting. They don't seem to do that on the trampoline. Maybe it is just too far from where I am to hear them arguing. They usually have smiles on their face and are laughing. They sure are a cute bunch of kids, even if I say so myself!

Ocean Shores

Miniature golf at the 9-hole course at the hotel.

Kite flying on the beach.
Kite war between Jason and Trevor. Winner-Trevor.
BriAnn was dunked in a wave. It was a gentle dunking with Kristi Ann holding her hands.
Playing in the sand.
The drive home. Trevor lost his second front tooth about halfway home.
Guess what he wants for Christmas! :)
We had a good time escaping the 107 degree weather by going to 60-70 degree weather at the beach. The kids had their first experience bowling and didn't do too bad with the bumper pads in place. Jason was grateful for them, as well. Kristi Ann won with a score of 120 something. We enjoyed the pool. We would go from swimming to mini golf to the beach to swimming and back to mini golf several times a day. Tyson was the one who requested golf, Trevor requested the pool and BriAnn went along for the ride enjoying every moment of it. She fell asleep on the floor one afternoon while emptying and reloading our laundry basket several times. It was a nice get away!
