Zoo

We love going to the zoo. We love taking friends and family to the zoo with our free extra passes each time we go. It was fun going with Emily and her kids this week. Fortunately, she remembered her camera and took this picture as I did not remember mine. Thanks, Emily! The weather finally decided to get warm going from 65 degrees to 85 degrees in a week's time. So, we took advantage of the sunshine.

4th of July

The 4th of July was spent at the Cabin. It was cold and overcast but we had fun playing games, coloring, riding horses, roasting marshmallows, playing in the tree fort, throwing rocks in the river and spending time with family. BriAnn and Kristi Ann went to visit her parents and all three grandparents on Sunday. Jason and Jared were able to kayak the river on Saturday. Those are the only pics I got of the whole weekend. Tyson stayed at the cabin with Aunt Jessica to play with Evie. The cousins played really well together all weekend!

Thankfully Jason and Jared listened to the Spirit and got out to investigate the river further ahead as there was some really big rapids followed almost immediately by a huge tree blocking the river with only about 8" clearance. They took a tributary instead. Jared spent lots of time in the water and Jason had to chase down his paddle but Jason had a great time! He loves our new kayak. It is just wide enough that he was able to stay in it and not tip like Jared's more narrow one. We are glad Jared made it to the take out point safe and sound, with just a few bumps and bruises.

Last Day of School

June 24 was the last day of school for Trevor. He went for two hours. Tyson, BriAnn and I went, as well. It was field day for the first graders. The kids played games, ate Popsicles, and had their faces painted. Trevor's was done by some volunteer parent and Tyson wanted one just like it but the parent was already gone so I did my best to make Tyson happy. BriAnn also wanted "lines around my eyes and a mustache". Here they are, the three happy kids!
